Kids Shared Bathroom Reveal

January 12, 2023

It’s done!!

The kids bathroom is complete and they are absolutely loving it. I renovated this upstairs bathroom that is shared by my 3 kiddos in the fall of 2022 as a part of the One Room Challenge over on Instagram. I was able to complete the project in 8 weeks (it was tight, but we made it!) and over the next few weeks I’m going to recap this project and share some in-depth tutorials for some of the things we did.

Here is the finished project in all it’s glory!

This room started as a boring, builder-grade bathroom with tan tile floors, honey-colored oak cabinets and a stripe painted on the wall that didn’t match the very bright shower curtain we put in there as a place holder when we moved in (7 years ago!). It needed updated badly.

bathroom before update, tan tile floors, honey oak cabinets, boring

We ripped out the old tile and replaced it with a beautiful black and white patterned tile, added a focal wall with vertical shiplap, painted the walls and ceiling, and painted the cabinets. We DIY’d a beautiful gold arched mirror out of the builder mirror which has been my most popular project to date, by far.

To add function and remove clutter, we built a pull-out stool drawer under the cabinet box and it works perfectly!

And the crowning glory, we added faux wood beams to the ceiling to bring in some warmth and architectural detail that pull the whole space together.

I love how it turned out and how much we all now love using this bathroom every day!

Stay tuned for all of the in-depth tutorials for the various projects in this bathroom renovation that you can do too!
